We recently had the opportunity to help a metal pipe manufacturer solve a wastewater challenge by upgrading their pump system. Their ETFE-lined mag-drive pumps were struggling with wastewater containing a mix of nitric acid, hydrofluoric acid, and metallic particulates, which caused premature failures.
To overcome this issue, we installed the Vanton CHEM-GARD 6 x 4 x 13 ANSI Centrifugal Pump. This robust pump handles 450 gpm at 110 feet of head and features a corrosion-resistant polypropylene liner, ensuring excellent chemical compatibility. It’s powered by a WEG 30 hp motor and mounted on a durable painted steel base.
Additionally, we incorporated a double mechanical-seal setup, with an Ingersoll Rand D-Series mag-drive pump providing 1 gpm of seal pot water from Flex-A-Seal ANSI Lite 4-gallon pressure pots.
Not pictured: For seal flushing, we utilized Ingersoll Rand D-Series mag-drive gear pumps driven by an ABB Baldor ¼ HP motor.
