Quality Welding for Wash System

March 28, 2025

Raising the Bar in Welding Quality

We’re in the final stages of completing a tanker truck wash system for a chemical company where precision is key. This project required all pipe welding to comply with ASME B31.3 – Process Piping standards, so we took extra steps to ensure every weld met the mark.

To verify quality, an independent contractor performed Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT)—a highly accurate method for detecting flaws in welds. The initial inspection covered 5% of the total welds. If defects were found, we’d repair them, and another 5% would be tested. This would continue until a defect-free batch was confirmed or every weld was inspected and corrected.

The results? A perfect first-round pass! Every weld met the standard on the first test, meaning no repairs or further testing were necessary.

Big shoutout to our team for their skill and attention to detail! Check out some photos from the inspection process below.
